The first thing you do, is ask yourself: What do I want to download?

For example: a Lord of the Rings movie.

Okay, you know what you want? Good.

Now you have to find a torrent to download a ‘Lord of the Rings’ movie.

There are several websites where you can find torrents. I will recommend you a few torrent sites which are very good torrent sites.

• www.torrentspy.com
• www.thepiratebay.org
• www.torrentsearch.com
• www.torrentreactor.net

In my example I will describe how to download a torrent via http://www.torrentspy.com

Go to torrentspy.com and type in the search area ‘Lord of the Rings’ and click the ‘torrent’ button.

Now scroll down to see what Torrentspy has found on ‘Lord of the Rings’.

These are the results of your search query. The files you here are ‘.torrent’ files. These files have to be imported in a BitTorrent client. I will discuss the BitTorrent client later, don’t worry.

Well now, you see 7 columns, namely:

1. Torrent Name: the name of the torrent.
2. Category: What kind of torrent is it. Is it a movie, a game, music or an application.
3. Size: This is the size of the complete file when it is completely downloaded.
4. Files: how many files are going to be downloaded with this torrent.
5. S: how many seeders are available. So, how many people seed a part of the complete file.
6. D: Downloaders. How many downloaders does this file have.
7. Health: this is the health of the file. The more green it is, the better. So you should get the files which are having the best health status.

If you point your mouse for a few seconds on a filename there is a balloon shown up as shown in the picture above which tells you the complete Filename.

Choose which files you are going to download. For example if you are looking for the movie ‘Fellowship of the Ring’ of ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, you search for a filename which says ‘Fellowship of the Ring’ in it AND you pick one with a good Health status.

When you found a good file you click on the filename.

Here you can see some details about the torrent file. You can read them if you want.

The next thing you need to do is to download this torrent file to your computer.

Click on the ‘Download’ button.

Here you can download the torrent. I recommend to download the torrent from the ‘Primary’ site.

Now you are being taken to the website you have chosen or where ever the torrent is located, OR you simply get a popup window to store the torrent file to your computer.

Here you save the file to your computer. For example in your torrents folder in D:my torrents.

Okay, now you have your torrent file. Can you watch the movie already?

The answer is: NO you can’t.

What you have done is just downloading the torrent. And this torrent files WILL download your requested movie, game or software (in my example, the movie ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’.)

So what are we going to do now?

Now we need a program where we can import this torrent file and download the movie.

Such a program is called a BitTorrent client.

There are several BitTorrent clients available on the World Wide Web.

For example:

• BitComet
• Azureus
• BitTornado
• Shareaza

In my example I will explain how to download the movie using BitComet.

Now you have to download BitComet and install it on your computer.

You can download BitComet here.

After you have installed BitComet you can use it for downloading movies, games and software via the torrent files you downloaded.

Now go to your torrents download folder (in my example ‘D:my torrents’) and double click on the torrent file you which to download.

Now the file will be opened in BitComet. Here you simply click ‘Ok’ and then the download will start.

After the download is compleet (100%) there are several files in your download folder. These files are mostly .RAR files which can be unpacked to one movie, game or software file.

To unpack .RAR files you need the program WinRar. You can download WinRar at http://www.download.com

WinRar unpacks all the .RAR files to a usable movie file.

After you have unpacked al the downloaded .RAR files you can watch you movie on your computer or you can burn them on a DVD to watch it in your DVD player.

You have successfully:

• Downloaded your torrent file,
• Downloaded your movie using this torrent file,
• Unpacked your downloaded .RAR files.

Congratulations!! You have successfully downloaded a movie using a .torrent file.

For downloading games or software you simply follow the steps above. The only thing different is that you search for something else. Here you simply search for the game or software you like to download.

Sony’s PSP or Playstation portable is a fantastic piece of technology-as well as being a top flight games machine it can view all kinds of media and also be used for web applications etc. In short it’s a great piece of hardware-however the one thing that puts many people off is the price of the games. Wouldn’t that be different if you knew how to download free PSP games and movies?

It’s long been known that the internet is a place where you can download free games and movies for many systems, but few people know that with a PSP you have a few different options on how and where to do it-the best thing is that they are all 100% legal!

There are hundreds, if not thousand of different places where you can download free PSP games and movies, but they mostly fall into the three following categories:

1- A totally free of charge service-There are sites that let you download games and stuff totally free of charge, but I personally wouldn’t recommend them. If these guys are willing to break the law and give away free

games, who says they are not going to hack your computer? I stay away from this stuff.

Technically it’s free because the membership is free, but then the minute you try and download something they’ll ask you for a fee. Not too cool really. I also stay away from these because A, I don’t like surprise fees, and B, again I’m unsure how legal this can be, although they do claim to be legal.

3- These types of sites are the ones I can heartily recommend. I found a few reliable ones and I haven’t looked back. I honestly haven’t paid for a PSP game or movie in over a year, and I have some great titles! Sites like these charge a small one off fee, and then you have access to hundreds and thousands of different games and movies, all at high download speeds with no extra cost. This really is the best way to download free PSP games and movies because the one off fee is usually about the same cost of a new game, so basically for the cost of your next full price game you could be playing every PSP game ever released-if you have that much time on your hands that is! The actual downloads themselves can be tricky, but if you stick with reputable websites they will often give you the necessary software as part of the package.

So there you have it, those are your options if you are looking to download free PSP games and movies. Personally I would recommend option 3, as some of these companies are excellent and you won’t believe the sheer choice of different games and movies available to you. Happy hunting!

One of the questions I am frequently asked is this one:

‘What should I put on my demo reel?’

Here’s the short answer: The only thing you should put on your demo reel is acting work (on film or tape) that you’ve been paid to do.

The biggest mistake I’ve seen being made, with regard to demo reels, is the inclusion of work under the AWFF contract. AWFF, for those of you who don’t know, is Actors Work For Free. (Sometimes called, Actors Work For Food.)

Productions under this ‘contract’ are frequently inadequate when it comes to delivering a professional final product – from which you can excerpt that helpful 23 seconds of footage you desperately need for your demo reel.

Amateur footage on your reel can hurt you a lot more than it can help you – with casting people and directors and producers – who, in the main, are looking for professional actors someone else has already hired (for money). It just makes good business sense.

Why should Mr. Producer be the first one to hire an untried, experimental, newly minted, actor?

Bottom line? As a producer, I simply want a pro. Why? Because my money’s going out the door rather quickly and I don’t really have time to ‘bring someone along.’ So, your assignment, should you decide to accept it, is to get as much paid work as you can.

When they are actually paying you to act, you have an improved chance of getting an adequately lit, properly recorded, and decently photographed piece of footage. Believe me, that stuff counts.

If your footage looks amateurish, pros will dismiss it … and all who participated. Especially you … since you asked them to look at it.

Is dismissal the result you want? I didn’t think so. The second most frequently asked question on this subject is this: ‘What do I do if I don’t have any professional footage?’

Answer: Don’t waste your time trying to put a demo reel together.

And, for goodness sake, don’t spend 100’s of hours of your precious time trying to get that elusive (and quite infrequent) lucky bit of footage from an AWFF production. You’re better off spending those 100’s of hours, marketing your acting business to the people who can help you; agents, casting directors, directors, producers, et al.

2 weeks spent putting together an attractive, interesting, selling, post-card to send to casting directors, will most probably yield ten times the result … compared to two weeks doing ‘Amateur Night In Poughkeepsie’ – wasting time playing a misunderstood street-wise street-person in a badly written, self-important, disorganized, drama about a twenty- something film-maker … who is coming of age …

.. on your dime! (AWFF contracts usually require you to come up with extra money out of YOUR budget.)

I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.

In other words, it’s probably a good idea to stop looking for short-cuts and loop-holes and start looking for acting jobs that pay.

After all, that’s why you’re doing this, right?

Don’t worry, you’ll get your great demo reel … eventually.

Fact: No matter how wonderful technology becomes, it will never do the hard work part FOR you. Now you know the reel deal.
