How come my torrent download movies don't play…?

I got utorrent and peergaurdian and went on btjunkie (new to this. all recommended by my brother) and tried to watch sherlock holmes off my computer without using internet but after i waited about 2hrs for things to download, everything says its been dowloaded and when i click on it to open my divx player, it shows the player but shows 00.00__________________00.00 and says its playing. yet obviously…its not! >_< noooo! why??? what can i do to make this work?
